How to choose Web hosting & Domain names

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

With the help of 123-registrations website, you can present your business to the entire world. A good web  hosting service is required in order to create a good and successful website. Everyone is searching for an ideal website provider in order to provide their company website with a unique and appealing web design, web hosting and domain name. Today the corporate world is more dependent on web hosting. Website hosting is becoming one of the important factors for small as well as huge corporate houses.

There are some who require website hosting for commercial and business purpose and on the other hand, there are some who require it to set up their own personal website. There are many web hosting providers who are available online. There are some web hosting service providers who charge a huge amount. This procedure of web hosting may take up to a week or sometimes even a month is not sufficient.

Always search for a reputable web hosting provider. It is better to buy a life time subscription of web hosting services rather than paying for one which will last only for a year. Online you can find many good web hosting provider and that too at an affordable rate. They even provide quality services like website lay-outing, customer service and support, updates on the dashboards, etc.

All websites require a domain name. All the email servers and website can be identified by its domain name. “Yahoo.com”, “google.com”, and “hotmail.com” are some well-known domain names. Most of the domain names end with .com, .net, .org. There are thousands of new domain names registered every single day. Many people are looking out for a way to make profit from domain names. Use a domain name to build a website; this is the first step towards profit. Registering of .com, .net, and .org domain names is relatively cheap and you can register as many domains you want as there is no limit on the registration of this type of domain names.

When you make a website it is obvious that you will get an advertiser who would like to advertise on your website. No matter whatever product your website sells or promotes you can always earn from the third party. It may be from an advertiser or from affiliate program links. Use relevant keywords in your domain name, which can be easily remembered by the visitors, as they are the ones that contribute to the search engine ranking. The key factor that brings profit to your website is a domain name.

The second profit that you can make out of the domain name is by reselling it. For example, invest few dollars in domain name registration and then sell the same to the third party at thousands of dollars. Be sure about the type of domain name that you have, as there are many domains which cannot be sold, and if some are sold then they bring in modest profit only.

Therefore, plan before you go for a domain name and web hosting service. Look out for the online dealer who can provide you with all services required to build a successful website. Budget yourself and look out for an online list of hosting service providers and see what they have in store for you.

How to find good Domain Names

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

Many people who wish to start a new business or have an idea for a new web site, struggle to find a good available (not already registered by somebody else) domain name. Indeed, it is not uncommon to hear people complain that all the good names are already taken.  My experience is that what is really lacking is not available domain names, but imagination and flexibility.

The first thing to realise is that many obvious domain names are indeed taken. By this, I mean for example single word or common short phrase names ending with dot com. It isn’t quite true that all such names are already taken, so it is still worth checking.

However, if, as likely, you find your first idea for a domain name is already taken, this does not mean you should give up looking! A key thing to remember is that a good name is not necessarily the same thing as the most obvious name. For example, do you think that the founders of yahoo.com or Google.com would have been in the least bit deterred when they find that somebody else had already registered searchengine.com or searchtheinternet.com? Likewise, one of the best known technical news sites is slashdot.org, which while memorable, is hardly the most obvious choice for a technical news site.  In short, the key to find a good domain name is to think laterally and be a bit flexible.

That isn’t quite all that there is to it though. While your brain is of course your most important tool when searching for available domain names, it doesn’t hurt to have some automated help as well.  There are a number of web sites that allow you to search for domains containing keyword combinations that you supply, or that can generate domain name ideas based on keywords and/or a theme of your choice

Setting up an online business, holiday property business.

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

Setting up an online business in my case has not  been as easy as often described in many websites. Working full time as a doctor, I thought to use some of my free time in the evenings an online business both for fun and as a hobby. Like everybody else, I very simply googled  the term make money online and researched.

I learnt that building a website, and most importantly a profitable website, needs time, focus and a clear idea of what it is you want to do. This is one of those easier said than done situations.

to speak in practicality, this is what happened, the first thing you need to have clear in mind is the concept behind your website and why this offers a better alternative as what is already in the market, my website is a holiday home letting agency specialized in property in Italy. the key point of my website consists in offering a wide selection of property from all regions in Italy at a very competitive price. In fact my website, Italy cheap reflects this concept.  It is cheap because, the business focused on selecting properties in areas people would find affordable & excluded the 3rd party by giving the landlords and future tennants direct communication between each other. This concept looks fantastic on paper however translating it into an online profitable business with a premium style website has proven to be a challenge. The first major hurdle was finding the correct look, In an effort to full fill the business idea by providing a website that delivers everything explained above, my design had to be changed three times to make sure i was hitting the nail on the head. after months of tweaks adjustments and disagreements with designers, I finally came to a design that I am satisfied with.

One would think that this is the end and the money starts rolling in, unfortunately it does not quite work like that, This is only the beginning. I will continue to update my experience on this blog so keep an eye or subscribe

How to build my own website ?

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Building your own website can seem like a complicated or even impossible task. If you are asking the question “How do I build a website”, you are not alone! In this article we will go through the 7 steps required to build your own website.

1) Decide on the topic of your website – The first thing you need to do if you haven’t already done so is decide what your website is going to be about. If you are building a website mainly to make money online you need to choose something that is both interesting to you and profitable. If you have a hobby, an interest in a particular sport, a special talent or a passion then this is a great start. You can also visit websites like 123-registrations sitebuilder as they can be helpful. If you find lots of templates, this is a good sign that there is a market for your chosen subject.

2) Spend some time doing keyword research – visit the Google Adwords Keyword Tool and enter some keywords related to the subject of your website. This will give you a very good idea of how many people are searching for keywords related to your site. Copy and paste these keywords into a text document or spreadsheet and keep them for later.

3) Decide on and register a domain name – the next step is to decide on your domain name. A domain name costs around £9 per YEAR and you can easily purchase one online. Try to choose a domain name that is descriptive of your market and at least contains a couple of related keywords.

4) Find a Web Host – a web host is required to store your files so when people visit your website they can see the content in their browser. There are many free hosting companies on the internet but these can be unreliable and usually require you to display ads. If you are creating your website as a business it is not professional to host on a free web host. It is possible to get a Web Host for £3.99 or less per MONTH.

5) Build Your Site – this is the part that many people find difficult. Most people do not want to learn HTML or PHP or get involved with graphic design. If this applies to you the best solution for you is probably WordPress. WordPress is a content management system and it allows you to edit your website and add new pages without having to know anything technical. If you have ever written an email or posted in an online forum you will be able to use WordPress to manage your website. WordPress is free to use and many hosts have the facility to install WordPress with the click of a button. There are also thousands of WordPress “Themes” available on the internet – themes are like templates for your site but they affect the way your site looks, without affecting the content.

6) Drive Traffic to Your Site – when you create a website it is not just a case of “build it and they will come…”. You need to actively promote your website and get lots of targeted visitors to your site. There are many ways to do this including writing and distributing short articles with your website URL in the author resource box, participating in forums related to your website with a link in your signature, search engine optimization, blogging, classified ads, pay per click advertising, directory submission, social marketing and much more.

7) Monetize Your Site – the final stage of the process is to monetize your site. There are many ways to do this and how you do it is dependent on your niche and how you want to develop your site moving forward. One of the most straightforward and simple ways to make your website profitable is by promoting affiliate products in return for a commission. Most affiliate programs are free to join and many pay as much as a 50% commission or in some cases more. When you join an affiliate program you will receive a special link with your own unique affiliate ID within it. If someone follows that link and purchases something you will receive a commission.

There are hundreds of thousands of affiliate programs on the internet – in fact most companies have their own affiliate program. You can learn more about making money with affiliate programs here. Other ways to monetize your site include Google AdSense, selling advertising space or creating your own product.

Hopefully this gives you a few ideas of where to start and helps to answer the question “How do I build a website?”
